Visit from Elder & Sister Gavarret (Oct 24-26)

Sister Gavarret

Words can't describe the feelings we had for the two days we got to spend with the Gavarrets.  We learned so much from them and truly felt of their love and support for the things we are doing here in our mission.  We also learned how to serve better.  Elder Gavarret is an example of sharing the Gospel wherever he is.  He feels an urgency to make sure that EVERYONE he comes in contact with has an opportunity to hear the exciting news of the restoration and he does not hesitate to share it.  I loved watching him in action, whether it was the waiter at the restaurant or someone on the street.  It made me realize how much more I can open my mouth.  I really try to share it at every opportunity I feel comes to me but Elder Gavarret "creates" opportunities.

What an amazing woman!! I felt so privileged to be able to spend a couple of days with her and get to know her a little bit.  I felt a connection with her. She is full of enthusiasm and really gets things done.   She has such a testimony of Jesus Christ and His work.  I was very humbled listening to the story of her conversion.  I know that this is why she has such a testimony of missionary work and a love for the missionaries. She is so much fun to be with too.  She has a love of life and an energy and smile that are contagious.  She and Elder Gavarret make a great team.  They are true examples of how the Gospel of Jesus Christ blesses lives in Happy Ways.

While Elder Gavarret was here we took the opportunity to have a mission-wide conference.  It was such a wonderful day for all of us. We had the Curacao missionaries present and the other areas of our mission Skyped in to the mission home and we were able to introduce all of our missionaries to each other as well as to Elder & Sister Gavarret.  Then we had an opportunity to be taught.  It was an incredible couple of hours and we learned so much!!

This is one of the Waiters at the Renaissance in Curacao
He is wonderful and we really love him!! He collects pins from all
over the world (if I remember right he has three vests just as full as this one)
He has a Salt Lake Temple pin and an Angel Moroni pin.๐Ÿ˜Š  It's fun to see them
all.  I'm sure he has met some interesting people in his life.
