President Baird asked these two to come up and tell their conversion stories.
It was so amazing to hear the changes that they made in their lives to
accept Jesus Christ and become members of His restored church.
Now they are both getting ready to serve missions themselves to help
others make similar changes and find the joy that they have found.
President Baird encouraged our missionaries to ask members their stories - especially
those who have not been to church in a while.
It helps to rekindle in them the feelings they had when first learning
about the gospel and gives the Holy Ghost an opportunity to
testify to them, once again, of the truthfulness of it.

I love the fact that everywhere we go there is a line up for
temple recommends (even though there is not a temple anywhere close by)
They want to make sure theirs is always current.

While we were at Haakes we heard a car accident outside.
When we looked out it was some members of the branch that were at
the intersection and a car coming down the road was going
too fast and had spun out of control and hit them.
Sister Haake had the kids come inside while they
got it all straightened out.

We had 8 in the van driving back from Berbice because we were bringing
the leaders for the leadership dinner in Georgetown.

I told Elder Allen to keep his eyes on the
road but I didn't want to leave him out of the
van pictures.
