TRANSFER WEEK
Transfer week is always a very busy but wonderful week. For me it is an up and down mixture of emotions. I love seeing the new missionaries come in with all their excitement and potential. One of the most rewarding things is watching them grow and "become" all that the Lord intends them to be. It's wonderful to watch them on the spiritual, physical and emotional journey of their mission. They find they can do hard things, they learn to love and serve people in a way they never have before, and most importantly they develop a greater love for their Savior, Jesus Christ and learn to rely on Him. So many valuable life lessons learned on a mission.....the icing on the cake is that they get to help others learn more about Jesus Christ and help them start on the covenant path as well. It's an incredible work to be a part of!!!
I love the second part of Transfer week when I get to spend some time with our departing missionaries. It is a joy to recognize all that they have accomplished, to hear their testimonies and spiritual experiences and then to send them home to start their next adventure....This is the hard part for me. I truly miss their smiling faces, the visits we have while they are waiting for interviews, and just being able to see them on a regular basis. It's like a part of my heart goes home with each one of them. I'm grateful that most keep in touch.....I feel like our family has grown and includes each one of these marvelous missionaries.

This is right after finishing orientation with these wonderful missionaries. We couldn't be happier to have them join us in this wonderful mission. Adventure awaits...... |
