Georgetown Guyana (9-14 FEB 2019)

GEORGETOWN GUYANA

Elder Morgan was pretty excited to receive a letter from his ward back home.
It was a Christmas letter so it was a little late but at least it made it!
One of the challenges of going on a foreign mission.  Especially one like ours that is
really spread out.  If a package or letter gets sent to the address on the church website
the missionary will have to wait until I get around the mission to deliver it to them. We send
out information on where packages and letters go for each country but sometimes
the information doesn't get passed on to the wards.

Elder Andrews, Elder Hanni & Onessa

What a beautiful baptism this was.  Onessa is the first one in her family to be baptized.  She is 19 and is a wonderful example to her two younger sisters and her mom who are also taking the lessons.  They all attended the baptism.  Elder Griffeth's mom was there and she bore her testimony about how her children joined before she did and they were examples for her so it was perfect.  She also expressed the joy and peace it has brought into their family and how the truthfulness of the restored gospel has permeated their lives and brought them closer to the Savior Jesus Christ.

This young man is 17 and has been attending church for 3 years
His parents won't allow him to get baptized until he turns 18 so he is waiting.
He gave the talk on baptism for Onessa's baptism and it was amazing.
He is so ready to receive the gospel.  He will be an amazing member!!
He is already a true disciple of Jesus Christ by just choosing to follow Him
the best He can.

Brother & Sister Benn
Brother Benn has been a service missionary and has helped get work visas for missionaries
for years.  He really keeps things running in Guyana as far as the missionaries go!
We love him dearly and appreciate all that he does for us.
He has really been struggling with some health problems lately and
I worry about him a lot.  I'm not sure what we would do without him.

Every time the gate to the church opens up, the cows come in!
I think this green grass is just so inviting.
Kyle said we should just start a little "Church Ranch" right here... 😂
